WORK

Let your customers talk for you as often as possible. You can only get so far by singing your own praises. <— This is a tweet that I sent out this week. It’s such a simple concept and something we so often forget.

I was brainstorming new promotion ideas for this Summer when it hit me. Duh. I should reach out to our Super VIPs (ridiculously high LTV compared to our regular customers), listen to their story, and tell it to everyone else. Obviously with their permission.

Our June campaign will be all about you: your goals, your struggles, your successes, your favorite products, your advice.

Currently, this is not the main messaging on our website BUT I’m going to create & test landing pages and see if it should be. Regardless, I am going to refresh our site with this concept in mind. Basically, skimming the website and replacing boring sections about us with success stories about you.

Affiliate traffic has the highest CVR for a reason. That reason: Let your customers talk for you as often as possible. You can only get so far by singing your own praises.

🤩 New product obsession: Nuuly, clothing rental

This isn’t exactly new but I’ve just revisited it again since the pandemic. Nuuly is a clothing rental company by Anthropologie/Urban/Free People. It’s $88/month and you can pick 6 items to rent for 30 days. They have clothes for every day or special occasions. I’m about to head to New Orleans and this was the perfect opportunity to rent some clothes that I love but wouldn’t pull the trigger on purchasing because of the high cost.

📺 Watching: Severance, Apple TV+

This is the best show I have seen in AWHILE. You really can’t beat a good psychological thriller — and this one does it with so much style. I could honestly just watch the intro and be happy, it’s so damn cool. In short, Severance is about a company that allows employees to get a procedure that separates their work life from their personal life. Chaos ensues.

👩‍🍳 Cooking: Homemade Pizza

We recently got an Ooni pizza oven. It was on our wedding registry and my company surprised me with it. I cried. Anyway… we had a pizza party with some friends. We supplied the necessities: dough, sauce, cheese, and everyone else brought the toppings of their choice. We had a little competition to see who could create the best pizza. I made two pizzas:

  1. red sauce, mozzarella, ricotta, and pepperoni - topped with hot honey

  2. white sauce, zucchini, and ricotta - topped with prosciutto, micro greens & good olive oil

The first one was the winner :)

🎙 Listening: My new Sunny playlist

As soon as it hits 60 degrees and I see one ray of sunshine, I create a new playlist. I would describe this playlist as youthful, glowy, and wistful.

QUOTE THAT HIT

“The magic you’ve been looking for is in the work you’ve been avoiding."
